AquaSave® Network members Steve Rose, landscape architectural consultant, ASLA; certified irrigation designers (CIDs) Ted Hunt and Cong Phui of Jardinier; Green World Solutions; Prunin Arborists; and Casillas Landscape Inc. are teaming up with Bob Simpson, president of AquaSave, to deliver on the new contract.
"Golden State Water Company is taking a smart approach to water management," says Simpson. "Not only will they reduce water consumption, they are developing a demonstration garden using the latest water conservation technologies, drought-tolerant plant material displays, and descriptions that can assist customers with ideas, strategies and sources to use with commercial properties or at home." Following the design, construction and installation phases, AquaSave Network members also will provide landscape maintenance services and an AquaSave® Irrigation Management program.
AquaSave recently completed the GreenWorld® GPS Water Audit segment of the project; an exclusive service offered only by AquaSave Inc. and certified AquaSave Network members.
"Conserving and managing water is a major part of our business. We chose AquaSave because they share our mission to educate our customers and involve the green industry in producing high-quality, more sustainable landscape," says Edwin DeLeon, water use efficiency manager, Golden State Water Company. "Our demonstration garden is the first of its kind in this area. It will beautify our general office headquarters and give the public and green industry professionals a more in-depth look at how using water conservation technologies, drought-tolerant plant materials and sophisticated audit processes is affordable, available and accessible."
All the state-of-the-art water conserving irrigation equipment, attractive drought-tolerant plants and soil amendment materials used in constructing Golden State Water Company's demonstration garden are being supplied by AquaSave® Affiliate members.
"This project gives our AquaSave Affiliate members an ongoing platform to display the versatility and effectiveness of their products and expertise," says Bob Baier, AquaSave Inc.'s technical director.
